Developed by CCAP’s Urban Leaders Adaption Initiative, the report, Ask the Climate Question: Adapting to Climate Change Impacts in Urban Regions, (PDF, 1.8MB) offers best practices for how cities and counties throughout the country should be thinking about the actions and strategies that can reduce their communities’ vulnerability to the dangers of a changing climate.
The report focuses on ten major urban areas that have already started to prioritize policies and investments in adapting to current and future climate change, offering specific suggestions on how communities can initiate the climate change adaptation process, determine its specific needs, set goals, and implement and improve its plans. The study is based on research conducted in Chicago, King County (WA), Los Angeles, Miami-Dade County (FL), Milwaukee (WI), Nassau County (NY), New York City, Phoenix, San Francisco, And Toronto.
