Community Rating System (CRS) Workshop For New CRS Communities

Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

This 1 day workshop is being offered to provide essential information to the new Community Rating System communities.

The instructor will be Scott Cofoid with the Insurance Services Office (ISO). He will cover the following:

  • CRS Overview & Concept
  • Four Series of Measures (18 topics)
  • Documentation Requirements for CRS Credit
  • Needed Pre-Requisites for joining the CRS Program
  • Planning Requirements based on Repetitive Losses

The workshop is designed to aid local officials and floodplain managers in better understanding the CRS program benefits, requirements and procedures. Most time will be spent on discussing the pre-requisites and planning.

CEUs: 6 Continuing education credits are available for CFMs through the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM)
